About Emaration

Two founders, one conviction.

A human-first technology company from Portland, Oregon — built on lived experience of service and disability.

The company

What Emaration is.

Emaration is an AI-driven, human-centered technology company. Its commercial side is a digital marketing and SEO practice that uses AI to do enterprise-grade work for small and mid-sized businesses. That work funds the mission: Emaration Outreach & Community Support is Emaration's community-focused assistive-technology initiative.

Our guiding principle is steady and unglamorous: AI should amplify humanity, not replace it. We aim to operate as a mission-driven company that earns its keep and gives back by design.

How we use AI

Honest about the machine.

We disclose where we use AI, and a human reviews everything before it reaches a client or a community. We never ship undisclosed AI-generated work.

That extends to images. Any AI-generated image carries a visible identifying mark on the image itself. No exceptions. Any placeholder standing in for a real photograph is labeled for what it is until the real one is ready. Photographs of the two of us are really us. The other people pictured on this site are licensed stock photography — they illustrate everyday situations our projects are designed for, and they are not members of our community or testers of anything. We'd rather tell you than let you assume.

Built to be used by everyone.

Accessibility isn't a feature here; it's the point. This site aims for WCAG 2.2 AA: real text alternatives for images, strong color contrast, full keyboard support, reduced-motion support, and a user-triggered “listen” option via the accessibility panel. If something gets in your way, tell us at hello@emaration.org and we'll fix it.

Sustainability

Using technology responsibly

AI and digital services use electricity, water, and computing resources. Emaration believes those costs should be acknowledged rather than ignored.

As the organization grows, we will look for efficient tools, avoid unnecessary computing, and be honest about the environmental trade-offs involved.
