About Emaration
Two founders, one conviction.
A human-first technology company from Astoria, Oregon — built on lived experience of service and disability.
The company
What Emaration is.
Emaration LLC is the company. Its commercial doors are outside IT specialist work with Andrew — leadership, strategy, advising (emaration.com), custom software and apps (emaration.site), and one hour a month with Andrew on AI or cybersecurity (emaration.works). The fourth is the AEO product (emaration.ai): audits, monitoring and fixes that help make a business easier for AI to name. That work funds this outreach. Emaration Outreach & Community Support is an initiative of Emaration LLC — not a separate company and not a nonprofit. Donations to it are not tax-deductible.
Our guiding principle is steady and unglamorous: AI should amplify humanity, not replace it. We aim to operate as a mission-driven company that earns its keep and gives back by design.
The founders
Who's behind it.
Andrew Dall
Andrew runs the technical and business side of Emaration. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and spent more than two decades in IT and cybersecurity, including years as an IT director for a veterans' organization.
Jordan Remington Williams
Jordan leads Emaration's Outreach & Community Support. He navigated vision and hearing loss, advocates for people with disabilities, and started the light-up cane project after a near-miss on a dark Portland street. The cane is still in early development. His story
How we use AI
Honest about the machine.
We disclose where we use AI, and a human reviews everything before it reaches a client or a community. We never ship undisclosed AI-generated work.
That extends to images. Any AI-generated image carries a visible identifying mark on the image itself. No exceptions. Any placeholder standing in for a real photograph is labeled for what it is until the real one is ready. Photographs of the two of us are really us. The other people pictured on the Home, Our Projects, How technology helps, and Get Involved pages are licensed stock photography — they illustrate everyday situations our projects are designed for, and they are not members of our community or testers of anything. We'd rather tell you than let you assume.
Built to be used by everyone.
Accessibility isn't a feature here; it's the point. This site is built for people who read with low vision or use a keyboard, a screen reader, or captions. Every page has a skip link, real text for images, strong color contrast, full keyboard support, and reduced motion, and every prose page has a listen button. If something gets in your way, tell us at hello@emaration.org and we'll fix it.
Sustainability
Using technology responsibly
AI and digital services use electricity, water, and computing resources. Emaration believes those costs should be acknowledged rather than ignored.
As the organization grows, we will look for efficient tools, avoid unnecessary computing, and be honest about the environmental trade-offs involved.
